“Backyard” Theology Summer Potluck
Backyard Theology Summer Potluck will offer a potpourri of speakers and topics guaranteed to enrich your Monday evenings in July and August. Enjoy barbecued hamburgers and hotdogs, and a salad and dessert potluck/social followed by our guest speakers.
What to bring: A thru R—Salad S thru Z—Dessert Bring your favorite beverage. Coffee & tea will be provided.
Time: 6:00—7:15 PM (dinner) 7:30—9:00 PM (speakers)
Offering: $5 per person each week.
July 12—Michael Horan, PhD, professor of Theological Studies, Graduate Program Director, Loyola Marymount University, will be speaking about the dynamic 21st Century Catholics......what shapes their opinions, attitudes, and outlook.
July 19 Deacons Gary Griffin and David Sire. What is God’s plan for love and life through the Sacrament of Marriage? Deacons Gary and David will share their personal reflections on this topic.
July 26—Deacon Jose Ferreras, Priest Vocation Coordinator, Diocese of Orange. Don’t miss Deacon Jose’s energetic and lively presentation on the challenges that Catholics face today at home and in the world. How can our faith in Jesus Christ help us overcome these challenges?
August 2—Mr. Brian Woods, Docent, Shroud Center of Southern California, will present some fascinating insights into the mystery of the Shroud of Turin. During his talk, Mr. Woods will display a replica of the shroud.
August 9—Msgr. Art Holquin, Pastor, will share some reflections on his Roman sabbatical and the course that he took while studying in Rome.
Dinner will be served in the inside parking area adjacent to the Pastoral Center at 6:00 PM.

CORNERSTONE CATHOLIC BIBLE STUDY
Structured to meet the needs of those who are beginning, as well as those who have had more experience in Bible study.
Please join us each Saturday morning for a special mass at 7AM in the Basilica. While this mass takes place each week, the first Saturday of each month brings pilgrims from around the county who gather to pray for healing. After mass a special blessing is offered with the relic of St. Peregrine
