The primary focus of the Basilica music program is to support the assembly at liturgy in the singing of the hymns and responses, and to lift their hearts and minds through the great tradition and heritage of music that belongs to the Church and edifies the liturgy.


ABOUT THE MUSIC MINISTRY PROGRAM The Basilica's music program has several music ensembles that lead our Eucharistic celebrations. Below is a list and description of all the music program opportunities.


BASILICA MIXED ENSEMBLE The Mixed Ensemble assists in the liturgical celebration at the Sunday, 11:00AM liturgy. The ensemble is open to all voice parts and the repertoire focuses on the broad choral tradition of the Roman Catholic Church.


BASILICA CONTEMPORARY ENSEMBLES The Basilica Contemporary Ensembles assist at the Sunday 9:00AM and 5:00PM liturgy and support the liturgical celebration with a more contemporary idiom.


BASILICA SPANISH ENSEMBLE The Basilica Spanish Ensemble assists with the Sunday liturgical celebrations at1:00PM. Many musical styles from the rich Hispanic heritage are celebrated each Sunday. The ensemble is open to all voice parts.


BASILICA CHORISTERS CHILDRENS CHORUS The Basilica Choristers assist at the first Saturday liturgy at 4:30PM. Children from fourth grade and beyond are welcome.

    Rehearsals for the Mixed Ensemble are every Thursday evening from 7:30pm – 9:30pm. Performances are Sunday mornings from 10:15am – 12:15pm. Please contact Matthew Gray if you are interested in joining our choir.
